Lorene J. Clouse

Lorene Eastel Johnson ClouseBorn September 25, 1932 in Fairview Community, Fannin County, Texas to John Dempsey Johnson and Myrtle Mae Beacham Johnson. Went to be with Jesus on December 4, 2017. Lorene's first love was her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. She spent many hours in Bible Study and prayer for her family and friends. Lorene was always ready to share her Jesus with anyone who would listen. She was a very loving and caring person who devoted much of her life to caring for her "Children of the Heart". Through her home-based day care which spanned more than fifty years, Lorene opened her heart and home to over seventy children; some for days, some for weeks and many for years. Lorene was an avid gardener. Her family liked to say she did not have a green thumb -- she had a green arm. Lorene could grow anything and spent many hours working in the yard and nurturing her house plants. Lorene was preceded in death by: her parents; brothers John, Jack, Henry and Frank; and sisters Louise and May.Lorene's legacy continues through: her husband of sixty-eight years, Elbert Odell Clouse; her daughter, Kathy Clouse of Mesquite, Texas; her sons Michael Clouse of Killeen, Texas and Gary Clouse of Mesquite, Texas; grandchildren Amanda Weiner and Christopher Clouse; her great-grandchildren Elizabeth Clouse-Splawn, Colby Clouse and Lily Clouse;and many nieces and nephewswho loved her dearly. Lorene's family will receive friends on Wednesday, December 6 from 6-9PM at the Eastgate Funeral Home. Her Celebration of Life will commence at 10:00AM on Thursday, December 7 at the Oates Drive Baptist Church in Mesquite. Lorene will be laid to rest in the Carson Cemetery near Ector, Texas following the church service. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Lorene's memory can be made to the Building Fund of the Oates Drive Baptist Church, 2805 Oates Drive, Mesquite, TX 75150.Even though Lorene is no longer physically with us, we will cherish the many memories of her time on earth. We also have the assurance that she has gone to Heaven with a perfect mind and body and that we will see her again when we someday join her there.
