Jordan James Johnson

Jordan James Johnson was born April 20th, 1958, in Minneapolis, Minnesota to Edward and Ruthe Johnson. He was the third of four children.

Jordan was raised and educated in Minnesota, and worked part-time jobs through high school. He later took a sales position in a high-end department store named Dayton’s, subsequently purchased by Macy’s. Jordan found a community at Dayton’s, both with fellow employees and customers. His helpful nature and friendly charm made it easy for Jordan to make and keep friends.

In the 1980’s, Jordan moved to Los Angeles California, and took a job with ABC Circle Films, where he managed wardrobe for the company’s television and movie productions. The company disbanded with the final episode of their signature television series “Moonlighting,” and Jordan was saddened to say goodbye to friends and colleagues in the industry.He eventually moved to Dallas, Texas, where he found home. It was in Dallas that Jordan met soulmate Art Jackson.He and Art complimented each other perfectly.

Jordan was an amateur botanist, and grew award-winning roses and irises, propagating hybrids that he would share only with avid gardeners.Jordan was also an animal lover, having rescued and raised several dogs and cats in his lifetime. Each of his animals had a special place in his heart and later, on his mantle.Jordan's animals were his children.

Hewas preceded in death by his parents.Jordan issurvived by: brothers, Jeff and Greg; sister, Joelle; beloved life partner, Art Jackson; andmany nieces and nephews.A Memorial Service will commence at 1:00PM on Sunday, November 5, 2017 in the Shipp Chapel of Lover's Lane United Methodist Church located at 9200 Inwood Road, in Dallas.
