Joe M. Plasencio Jr. of Garland, Texas, passed away peacefully with his family by his side on Thursday, October 12, 2017 at the age of 83.

He was born on May 21, 1934in Austin,Texas to Joe M. Plasencio Sr. and Delfina (Castañon) Plasencio. Joe married the love of his life, Georgie Aurora Estrello, on January 6, 1962. They were married for 55years.

Joe was a loving husband and devoted family man who enjoyed spending time with his wife, son, daughter and granddaughter. He also relished family gatherings with his brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law and each of their families. His captivating personality and genuinely caring nature will forever be remembered through the lives of his family and friends. Joe retired after a long career with General Electric.

Joe is survived by his wife, Georgie Plasencio, their son, Joey Plasencio III of Dallas, Texas, their daughter, Sarina Underwood and her husband Larry Underwood of Sachse, Texas, and their granddaughter, Sierra Ramos of Fort Worth, Texas and a host of extended family and friends.

Recitation of the Rosary will be from6 to 8 p.m.onSunday,October 15,2017at Charles W. Smith and Sons Funeral Homes, 2925 Fifth St., Sachse, TX 75048. A funeral service will be held at10 a.m.onMonday,October 16,2017, at Good Shepherd Catholic Church, 1224 Main St., Garland, TX 75040. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park,13005 Greenville Ave., Dallas, TX 75243.
