Charles Fisher

Charles “Chuck” Fisher passed away on Monday, June 19, 2017 at age 92 in Dallas, Texas, following an extended illness. A proud Veteran of World War II, he was also an accomplished musician and artist. After working at the CBS affiliate KRLD-TV for 23 years, first as a commercial artist and subsequently as their Art Director, Chuck went to work for the ABC affiliate WFAA-TV, where he served as the Art Director for 15 years. Chuck was a member of the DFW Professional Musicians Association Local 147 (the green door) and entertained the Metroplex for many years as a drummer with many different groups. He particularly loved performing each New Year’s Eve, celebrating his birthday of January first. An avid hobbyist, Chuck spent many happy hours fishing at Lake Texoma and hunting deer, quail and dove in the hill country of Texas. He delighted in designing, building and flying his own competition remote controlled sailplanes, a passion that he shared with his fellow club members in the Soaring League of North Texas and the Dallas Indoor RC Flyers. Chuck was also influential in the decision to include RC model airplanes in the Cavanaugh Flight Museum. Chuck’s first wife, Rosalie Lynn Fisher, passed away of cancer. He married Linda Ille Fisher in 1975. He is survived by his wife, a daughter, a stepdaughter, a granddaughter, many step-grandchildren and step-greatgrandchildren. We will miss his selfless good humor and playfulness. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that friends and family consider memorial contributions to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America. A celebration service will be held onSaturday July 29, 2017 from 2-4:00 pm at the Highland Park Cafeteria 1200 North Buckner Blvd. Dallas, Texas 75218.
