Gerald Lee Beeson, age 82, went to be with the Lord June 20th after a long illness. He was born November 16, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri. He was preceded in death by his parents Rebecca and Bob Beeson and his sister Nancy Donovan. He is survived by his wife Marilyn of 59 years and daughters Melanie Baker, Melinda Marx and Michelle Greissinger, 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, his sisters Becky Lou and Bobbie Sue, and his brother Buster.Gerald graduated from Forest Avenue High School, attended Oklahoma A&M and Arlington State College before entering the Air Force. Following his discharge in 1958 he became owner and operator of Dallas Cash Register Company for 25 years. A licensed realtor, he was a member of numerous civic and community organizations. He later served as Bicentennial Chairman for Garland in 1976 and was a longtime member of DAV and a deacon at South Garland Baptist Church.Visitation will be held at Eastgate Funeral Home in Garland on Friday from 5-7 p.m. Funeral service will be Saturday at 1:00 p.m. at South Garland Baptist Church. Burial will be in the Dallas-Ft. Worth Cemetery.
