Olive Jean Sanchez

*********************************************************************************************** Olive "Jean" Sanchez of Dallas, Texas passed away at home peacefully on June 5, 2016 at the age of 87. Jean was born andraised in Great Bend, Kansas andafter graduating high school she studied to be a court reporter. In 1952 she married Domingo T. "Joe" Sanchez of Peabody, Kansas and put her career on hold while she raised their three children. During those years, the family moved from Kansas to Guatemala, Oklahoma, Mississippi and Louisiana, as Joe was transferred with his job as a geologist. After 20 years of marriage, she divorced and moved to Texas to be close to her children. Jean was able to resume her career in the legal field, retiring at 66. In her retirement she enjoyed needlepoint and won ribbons in state competitions. Shehad a comfortable retirementand continued living independently until 2 years ago when she moved to a memory care home in Dallas. She is preceded in death by her father, Courtney L. Harris; mother, Sylvia R. Harris Baker; sisters, Phyllis Zonker and Nadine Viney; and brother, David Harris. Those left to cherish her memory include her daughters, Susan L. Sanchez and Patricia D. Sanchez, and son, Daniel R. Sanchez. A private service is planned for family.
