Colleen Frances King

Colleen (Coco) Frances King, 56, passed away in her sleep on April 29, 2016 at home in Garland, in Dallas County, Texas. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Moran, WY. Donations in her name may be made to The American Brain Tumor Association (abta.org; 8550 W. Bryn Mawr Ave. Ste 550 Chicago, IL 60631).

Coco was born in Scottsbluff, Nebraska May 29, 1959 to James (Jim) and Nancy (Langley) King. She attended Tate High School in Pensacola, FL. She studied nursing at Tyler Junior College (LVN), El Centro (RN) in Dallas, TX, and Grand Canyon University (BSN). In addition, she had several elite nursing certifications. She was an emergency room nurse for 30+ years working at Baylor Hospital in Garland, TX, Penrose Hospital in Colorado Springs, CO, and St. John’s Hospital in Jackson, WY. Nursing was her passion in life.

Her favorite place in the world was Moran, WY, where her family has had a residence for over 50 years. Throughout her life she enjoyed animal scoping, kayaking, and camping, ultimately landing her dream job in Jackson Hole.

Above all, Coco loved her family. She is survived by her heartbroken children Cherie (John) Percaccio, and Robby (Ashley Mays) Hamell. Her grandchildren Aletha Utinske (13), Tobias Wolf (8), Frances Percaccio (5), Patrick Hamell (3), Johnny Percaccio (2), and Olivia Hamell (2), were the joys of her life. Coco was a loving sister to Debbie (James) Mixon, James (Carie) King, Kathy (Alan) Box, and Julie (Bill) Parrott. She adored all of her nieces (4) and nephews (7), supporting them in sports and other activities. We remember Coco as beautiful, generous, strong, independent, amazing, thoughtful, and happy. She will be missed.

She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents James (Pat) and Doris (May) King, her Uncle Doug King, and her maternal grandparents John and Mary Langley.
