Caitlin Nicole McClurg Smith (27), passed away on April 5, 2016 at Parkland Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Born in New London, CT, she was the daughter of Maria Valdes McClurg and the late Michael McClurg. A graduate of Dallas Academy in 2007 and LeCordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts in 2010, where she met and married the love of her life, Charles Vernon Smith, Jr. They united in marriage January 3, 2014.

Her passion for cooking/catering was very obvious in every meal she prepared. Her meticulous attitude was seen by others in how she applied her make-up. Caitlin was an ardent HGTV watcher and was very organized and thrifty. Her grandmother had a big influence on her loyalty to her family and friends, her strong-will, and she was known as the back-bone of her family.

Caitlin is survived by her husband, Charles Vernon Smith, Jr., two children, Ariel Rose and Charles Vernon Smith III, mother, Maria Valdes McClurg, grand-mother, Alicia Valdes, mother-in-law, Leslie Jackson Smith, father-in-law Charles Vernon (Deborah) Smith, Sr. grandparents -in-law, Eddie Lee (Loistein) Smith, Sr., three brothers, Alfonso Joshua (Jasmine) McClurg, Scott Anthony McClurg, Derek Smith and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins and very close friends.

Caitlin will always have a special place in our hearts.
