Dennis Michael Buck

Dennis “Denny” Michael Buck, 65, passed away as a result of complications from colon cancer on March 4th, 2016 at Parkland Memorial Hospital in Dallas, TX with family and friends at his side.

Dennis was born on October 1st, 1950 to Melba F Noles and Robert K Buck in San Antonio, TX. Dennis married Caroline Marie Buck (Whelan) in 1976 and together they had three children: Andrew, Jonathan, and Patrick. Dennis was married to Caroline from 1976 to 1997. Dennis graduated from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York in 1972 with a Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering. During his life, Dennis first worked as a civil servant for the Air Force from 1976 to 1982. He was then employed by Rockwall, which would later become part of Alcatel-Lucent, from 1982 to 2001. After leaving Alcatel in 2001, Dennis embarked on an early retirement where he spent his time authoring puzzles for publication. In 2007, he moved to Garland, TX near Lake Ray Hubbard to live with his girlfriend, Tonya Butler, and lived there until the day of his passing. Dennis was a lifelong fan of the Texas Rangers and Dallas Cowboys. He also loved fishing, spending time on Lake Ray Hubbard, travelling, and the art of creating word puzzles and games designed to stimulate the minds of others.

Dennis was preceded in death by his parents, Melba and Robert. Dennis is survived by his 3 sons, Andrew, Patrick, and Jonathan. He is also survived by his sisters, Sheri and Bonnie (San Antonio, TX) and his grand-daughter, Elizabeth (Portland, OR).

Because of his love for the lake, we will hold a celebration of life in the honor of Dennis Buck at 2 p.m. on March 12th, 2016 at Captain’s Cove Marina, which is located at 5965 Marina Dr., Garland, TX 75043.
