Muriel Jean Rowland “Mu” entered into eternal rest on January 28, 2016. She was born in Stoke-On-Trent, England on December 27, 1935 to Irene Smith and Joseph Thorley.

On September 17, 1955 Mu married Edward Ronald Rowland "Ron", and the two went on to have three sons David, John, and Alan and one daughter Janet. Mu and Ron brought the family up as devout members of Bethel Evangelical Church in Stoke-on-Trent, England. They joined Wycliffe Bible Translators in 1961 and went on to work as missionaries, living in Ghana, West Africa for fourteen years. When Ron become vice president of personnel for Wycliffe Mu worked as his administrative assistant. She also worked at Dallas Theological Seminary for a number of years before her retirement. Mu called Scurry, Texas home to her and her family since 1999.

Muriel was preceded in death by her husband Ron. Survivors include their four children as well as their grandchildren Naomi, Bethany, Caleb, Cade, and Bryce.

A memorial service will be held February 20, 2016 at 1:00pm at Central Baptist Church of Crandall, 1749 S FM 148, Crandall, TX 75114. Phone (972) 427-3685
