Jim graduated from Texas Tech University in 1969 and obtained his Masters Degree in 1986. He worked for banks and in medical practice management, but his passion in life was operating his own business, JCG Financial, which he started and ran for 20 years. Jim loved watching movies, listening to music (especially jazz and rhythm and blues), studying Civil War history (particularly the presidency of Abraham Lincoln), RV travel with his wife, socializing with friends and neighbors, telling jokes and attending his grandchildren's school and sports functions. He was a great handyman and worked in partnership with his wife in creating a beautiful landscape for their home. Jim is survived by his wife of 31 years, Susan Griggs; sister Jo Carol Harmon and her husband Noland of Kennedale,TX; His daughters, Chris Reichelt of North Highlands, CA and Hollie Graham and her husband Kyle of Rowlett, TX.; Susan's sons Michael Schroff of Newport Beach, CA, Robert Schroff and his wife Debbie of Newport Beach, CA., Steven Schroff of Dana Point, CA and Mark Schroff of Fullerton, CA. He had eight wonderful grandchildren, Curstin Ploch, Tia Reichelt, Senior Airman Austin Anderson, Mandy Reichelt, Airman 1st Class Joey Reichelt, Jackson Graham, Saylor Schroff and Samantha Schroff and many, many friends. A celebration of Jim's life will be held at 10:00 AM on November 7, 2015, at Lake Ridge Bible Church (1020 Northwest Drive) in Mesquite, Texas (75150).
