Zulema De La Cruz, 90, passed away August 8, 2015 in Dallas, Texas. She was born December 14, 1924 in Alice, Texas to Marcos and Isabel Pe?a. Zulema was a loving wife, mother, sister and friend to many people. She was a resident of Dallas for over 40 years and a member of the Pleasant Mound-Urban Park United Methodist Church. She was also a member of the Girl Scouts of America, a Den Leader for the Cub Scouts, a teacher's aid in Alice ISD, a member of United Methodist Women, a member of the Poise and Ivy Garden Club, and of the Cornelian Educator's Wives Club. She was preceded in death by her parents; sons, Mark and David De La Cruz; and her sister Elvira Pe?a. Zulema is survived by her loving husband of 70 years, Juan A. De La Cruz; daughters, Cynthia (Oscar) Solis of Harlingen, Texas, Sally (Roberto) Lazo of Dallas, Texas; daughter in law, Belinda De La Cruz of Corpus Christi, Texas; sisters, Maria Isabel Robles of Corpus Christi, Texas, Linda (Richard) Ramirez of Dallas, Texas; 6 grand children, 6 great grandchildren and extended family. Pall bearers will be Matthew De La Cruz, J.L. De La Cruz, Samuel Nicholas Infante, A. J. Lopez, Stephen Ramirez and Carlos De La Garza. Honorary pall bearers are Eloy Infante, Brooks Shutt, and Kevin Lockingen. The visitation will be held Wednesday, August 12, 2015 from 6:00pm - 8:00pm at Eastgate Funeral Home, 1910 Eastgate Dr. Garland, Texas 75041. The Funeral service will be Thursday, August 13, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at Eastgate Funeral Home with the interment to follow at the DFW National Cemetery at 1:15 pm.
