Charline Helen Howard Byars, 89, of Garland, Texas passed away Tuesday, September 24, 2013. Charline was born in Bowie, Texas on April 24, 1924. Charline was a long time resident of Garland. She enjoyed many years of membership at Orchard Hills Baptist Church in Garland, and spent time volunteering for the Garland Police Department and her Sunday school class. She was loved by everyone who knew her. She was strong and steadfast in her faith and loved her family and friends above herself and gave selflessly to the Shriners Circus and Scottish Rite Hospital. Many special memories were made during these times spent together. Charline is survived by her son, Howard Byars; 7 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Byars and her daughter Shirley Byars Woods. Visitation will be held Friday, September 27, 2013 from 6-8:00 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Home 1910 Eastgate Drive, Garland, TX 75041. A memorial service will be held on Saturday September 28, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Eastgate Funeral Home 1910 Eastgate Dr. Garland, TX 75041. The service will be officiated by Bro. Dickson Rial.
