Patricia Ruth Micarelli was born on February 16th, 1938 in Dallas, Texas to parents Paul and Virginia Daniel and her sister Paula Daniel Moore. They lived in the historic Vickery section of Dallas where Paul “Papa D” and Virginia “Mama D” owned and operated a general store on Greenville Avenue. Lil Patsy Ruth was an adventurous and playful child that loved to have fun with her family and friends singing and dancing to the latest songs on the radio. At age 10, she came to genuine saving faith in JESUS CHRIST at Vickery Baptist Church where the Gospel came alive to her. GOD totally changed her life and set her stage with an unwavering faith, an intimate relationship with HIM, and a love for the Word of GOD.
At an early age, it was apparent that GOD blessed Patricia with extraordinary gifts and talents of performing, pantomime, theater, dance, music, art, and athletic sports. At 12 years old, she heard Spike Jones, “Cocktail’s for Two” on a radio show and immediately went into her family garage and mastered her famous, iconic, and signature pantomime that she performed throughout her entire life. She attended Stonewall Jackson Elementary, J.L. Long Middle School, and graduated from Woodrow Wilson High School in 1957. After high school, she went to work for Paymaster Feed Mill in the accounting department where she rose through the ranks and really displayed her strong work ethic and her desire to overcome life’s challenges and hardships to be successful.
In 1960 she met Thomas J. Micarelli in the Meadows Building cafeteria and they began dating and were married shortly afterwards. Patricia was a loving, caring, and devoted wife and mother totally committed to her family and three children; Stacy, Kelly, and Michael. She loved her family with everything she had and instilled in them the principles and values of GOD first, family second, and everything else last. She was a founding member of St. Patrick’s Church where she helped start The Mother’s Club, served as president, and implemented a Bible Study program for the school. She received increasing notoriety and fanfare as the entertainment director of the yearly church fair. She organized, directed, staged, and starred in the popular variety show that brought great enjoyment to the community at large.
While being a full time mother, she also did TV commercials for Dallas Power and Light, Hutchison’s Meats, and stage work for the State Fair of Texas. She also represented Smart Time Apparel and did seasonal markets at the Dallas Apparel Mart. She was offered a starring role in a long running broadway comedic show in Las Vegas but turned it down because of her love and commitment to her family. Later in life, she discovered her love and talent for painting. She graduated from the prestigious D’Mitri Vail Institute of Art and painted over 50 paintings filling the canvas with her warmth, her beauty, her distinct style, and incredible creativity. She was a lover of all animals and had many dogs and cats over the course of her life. She was a lifelong donor of the ASPCA of Dallas and passionate about supporting animal shelters promoting the care of all animals.
Patricia was truly larger than life, an outstanding mother and wife, caring friend to everyone, and welcoming to all that crossed her path. She was a creative genius that had a passion to perform, a flare for the dramatic, and a desire to bring light, laughter, hope, and encouragement to people’s lives. On April 16th, 2024, she went home to be with The LORD. She will be missed beyond measure as she finished her final performance and the LORD took her home to be with HIM forever. Her faith in JESUS CHRIST was the cornerstone, the foundation, and the catalyst that gave her the platform to live life to the fullest all for the purpose of reflecting the glory and the love of GOD.
