Gloria Jan Crisp
May 16, 1944 — February 14, 2026
Gloria Jan Crisp, or Jan to everyone without medical degrees, passed away and entered into the presence of her Lord on February 14, 2026. Born in Lamesa, Texas, on May 16, 1944, to AD and Mary Eva Lewis, Jan’s life was a bold example of what a Christian woman is called to be. A loving and supportive wife, a strong and loving mother, a servant for her Lord and family, and a friend to all. She loved God; she loved everyone.
Jan grew up in Odessa, Texas, where she was a proud graduate of Odessa Permian High School. Her journey of love and faith continued in Abilene, Texas, while attending Abilene Christian College. It was there that she met the love of her life, Jerry Crisp. The two were married on December 12, 1964, beginning a beautiful 61-year partnership built on Christian principles and a deep love for the Lord, their family and friends, and each other.
A devoted Christian woman, Jan was a pillar of the Saturn Road Church of Christ family, where she attended and served faithfully since moving to Dallas in 1990. Her faith was the foundation of her home and the guiding light for her family. Her glowing example brought many to Christ, and her treasures will be many in heaven.
Known by her grandchildren as Meemaw or Granma, Jan was an accomplished artist and decorator. She spent many years planning and decorating for parties and weddings. Her artwork, murals, and visual aids have adorned church classrooms and been loved by teachers and children for years. She enjoyed talking, shopping, talking to her grandchildren, shopping with her nieces, playing games, eating with friends (at Don Burger), shopping with her friends, talking to her friends, and (according to her father-in-law) talking until she thought of something to say.
Jan is now reunited with those who preceded her in death: parents AD and Mary Eva Lewis, daughter Mari Cinamon Miller, and sister Eva Jo Kasinger.
Jan is survived by her husband, Jerry Crisp, sons Andy Crisp and Zach Crisp and his wife, Kristi, grandchildren Adilynn, Abigail, Axl, Briggs, Ace, and Braylon, her brother Jerry Lewis and his wife, Helen, her sister Carolyn Rhoads and husband, Murphy, nieces and nephew Mitzi Hauck, Brittany Jones, Jordan Kasinger-Watkins, Tiffany Densmore, Tara Lewis, and Justin Lewis and countless cousins, great nieces and nephews, in-laws, a few out-laws, friends that were family, and too many beloved conversation partners to list.
All will miss her warm hugs and smile. There will always be an empty spot in the hearts of all she touched, and many stores will close.
Services will be conducted at Saturn Road Church of Christ, located at 3030 Saturn Road, Garland, TX 75041, on Saturday, February 21st, at 11:00 AM. A visitation will precede the service at 10:00 AM at the church.

Jerry & family, What a great summary of Jan's wonderful life in her obituary--the humor was perfect! She was a special friend & woman. Jan always had a hug, smile, encouraging word. My coach loved her positive comments & enjoyment of his class.....& her continued sweet words about still missing the class after he was no longer able to teach. We know you will have a huge void & deep grief without her earthly presence. So glad that we will see her again! With prayers & love, Cindy

Jan’s obituary is absolutely perfect! She definitely loved visiting and shopping and there could absolutely be the closing of stores since Jan will no longer be shopping here on earth. Joe and I will cherish our memories of traveling with Jan and Jerry to Cooperstown, Niagara Falls, Washington DC, and all over New York State in the late 1960’s. Yahtzee, J Ray, no tv…so long ago! Jan “talked” so many Christians into relocating in the Endicott, NY area, including preachers; Jan never met a stranger!

Jerry & family, this is the 2nd time I have written a note & on the 1st one, I received a timed-out delete notice. So, my apologies if they both go through. Jan was a special friend & wonderful woman. She always had a smile & encouraging word for my coach after his class; after he was unable to continue teaching, she still would remind him of her love for the class & how she missed it. The void she leaves will be felt by all of us, & especially you family members, as you grieve & hurt. So thankful that we will see Jan again. I will miss her hugs, notes, & smiles. Cindy Richmond
