Barbara Jean Wyatt

Barbara Jean Wyatt, 80, of Garland, passed away on Thursday, November 19, 2020 in Garland. She was born on January 14, 1940 in Texarkana, Texas, the daughter of Clyde Dolph and Mozell Carroll Dolph. Barbara attended Texarkana High School, graduating with the class of 1958. She then attended Eastfield Community College, earning her Associate degree in Accounting. She met the love of her life, Trenver Duke Wyatt in 1960. They had a true whirlwind romance, marrying just six weeks later on May 7, 1960. Barbara and her family were active in the Southminister Presbyterian Church. Barbara was a Sunday School Teacher for many years. When Southminister closed, they began attending Eastminister Presbyterian Church. Barbara was involved with the Red Cross Disaster Relief, providing coffee and sandwiches for firefighters. Barbara was most happy when she was doting over her grandchildren. She was known as the taxi driver, shuffling them to their various ballgames and other activities. She was very involved with her grandkids up to the very end. Barbara is survived by her children, Jeff Wyatt, Michelle Wyatt, Lori Moore (Lenny) and Patric Wyatt; grandchildren, Leighann Palechek (Jacob), Taylor Howell (Lynda), Chelsea Umberger (Evan) and Victoria Howell and fiance, Steven Watts Rachel Moore and Abby Moore; great grandchildren, Addy Umberger, Eli Umberger, Willow Howell, Olivia Howell, Norma Jean Palechek and Hunter Palecheck; sister, Mary Melton (Jim); niece Molly Griffin and nephew, Robert Melton. She was preceded in death by her husband of 60 years, Duke; her parents Clyde and Mozell Dolph; a grandson, Eaton Umberger and a sister, Gerry Gaulden. The family asks that memorials be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation.
