Emily Ingram

Emily Ingram passed away peacefully on February 5, 2020 in Dallas Texas. She was 95. She was the second daughter of Jerome and Carrie McBroome and was one of five children. Her parents and all of her siblings preceded her in death. She was married to Cletus Brewer (deceased) and Mac Ingram (deceased). Left to mourn her are her son James, his wife Betty Jo, granddaughters Andrea and Jennifer, and three great grandchildren to whom she was affectionately known as GiGi. She worked in the purchasing office at Braniff Airlines for over 20 years, then began a second career in the office of the District Clerk of Dallas County. She loved that job and her coworkers, retiring long after most of us would have chosen to do so. Mom loved her family unconditionally and was forgiving of all of our shortfalls in life. Her simple lifestyle concealed a generosity that knew no bounds. Whether it was assisting a neighbor or coworker with a project or providing additional assistance for her family, she was always there. She was a devoted woman to her faith, her family, her friends, and her beloved Dallas Cowboys and Texas Rangers. Although her health wouldn't permit her to attend games, she never missed one on television. She was a determined woman. Rising to womanhood during the depths of the Great Depression, she fully understood the meanings of the words sacrifice and thrift. She was fiercely independent, living in her home, until the end. She was compassionate. I remember one Christmas where she would not come to California to be with her family because doing so would have deprived a fellow worker of the only time available to spend with her son. As is said in Matthew 25, Whatever you did for others, so you did to me and you will rest in the kingdom that I have prepared for you. Mom, you were righteous in everything you ever did, and I know you are now at the side of the Lord. I loved her with all my heart and will miss her terribly, as will the rest of her family members.
