Melody passed away at Medical City Dallas after a lengthy illness. She loved playing guitar and the flute, as well as writing her own songs. Melody was a member of the South Garland High School marching and concert band. She and her husband Ray would play and sing in local coffee houses and other public events. Melody also loved singing in the church choir and loved her family at Axe Memorial Methodist Church. She was very active on social media, such as Facebook. Daughter of Patricia Ann Mapes and Herchel Jay Mapes. Survived by her husband Raymond Glenn Floyd Dodd, son Raymond Jay Alan Dodd and daughter Jenny Ann Wood. She was grandmother to five grandchildren, Andrew and Harmony Wood of Sachse, TX, Tyler and Avery Dodd of Meridian, ID, and Andre Keanu Lorono Dodd of Los Angeles, CA. She also very much loved their three dogs, Bubbles, Star and her favorite of all, Jack. Her voice, music, writing talent and loving heart will very much be missed.
