Robert Wayne Taylor of Garland, Texas passed away on June 30, 2025 at age 79. He was born
in Rockford, Illinois on March 25, 1946. He moved his family to Texas in 1980 working in various
Plumbing fields and retired from IPS corporation. He was a member of Lakepointe Church, in
Rockwall, TX. He was survived by his wife of 60 years, Pat Taylor; children Robert Michael
Taylor and Patricia Lynn Rossman; grandchildren, Marcel Cordes (Linda), Michael Taylor
(Brittany), Markus Taylor, Ashley Neff, Peyton Rossman and Piper Rossman, six great
grandchildren, Ella Cordes, Gabrielle Taylor, Izaiah Ortega, Christopher Taylor, Matthew
Huertaz, Henry Cordes, and numerous sisters/brothers-in-law, and many nieces and nephews,
who all loved him dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert Taylor and Effie Murphy Taylor and sister
Georgia Dawn Hiatt and brother-in-law Ronald Hiatt. His surviving siblings are Paula Taylor and
Charles Taylor.
He lived by the motto “I did it my way “. It was often said he was “one of a kind “. He loved his
dogs, Oscar, Betty and Gus. He also loved music and enjoyed playing softball in his younger
years, as well as playing Parcheesi with his sister Paula. The tough guy hid his feelings, but if
he loved you, he LOVED you. He will be greatly missed.
A celebration of Bob‘s life will be held on August 2, 2025 from 6:30PM - 8:30 PM at Holford
Recreation Center in room 201 on the second floor (elevator available) 2314 Homestead Place,
Garland, TX 75044. Food will be be catered.
