Jose Abraham Cifuentes

Jose Abraham Cifuentes Calderon was born to Julio and Zoila Cifuentes in Guatemala City, Guatemala in 1958. He grew up with two loving siblings Carlos and Haydee Cifuentes. There, he had his first daughter Evelin Cifuentes. He obtained a Bachelor's degree in accounting and enjoyed his profession as a bookkeeper before immigrating to Long Island, New York in 1979. In 1981, he moved to Dallas, Texas where he brought three beautiful children into the world: Viviana, Jose Luis, and Daniella Cifuentes. He remarried in 1997 to his wonderful wife Velma Cifuentes and became a loving step father to Alex, Andy, and Veronica Meza. He was incredibly proud of his grandchildren Mia, Lea, Jr, Alexis, Dominic, Araceli, and Dylan. He led his family with love, always encouraging them to trust in God and walk in faith. He was a passionate member of his church and found peace through spreading God's word.

Beyond his faith, Jose was a lifelong fan of classic rock music, finding joy in the rhythms of bands like Led Zeppelin. He was also a passionate soccer coach, cherishing every moment spent on the Crawford Park field with his players on the "Little Rascals." His kindness, patience, and wisdom reflected the heart of a true disciple, and his presence was a source of comfort to many.

While we grieve his loss, we take comfort in knowing that he is now at peace in the presence of his Savior and reunited with his son Jose Luis, his brother Carlos, and his parents. His life was a testament to God’s grace, and his memory will continue to inspire those who had the privilege of knowing him.
