Carl DeWayne Wall, 74, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 23, 2025, surrounded by family. Known for his strong demeanor and a guarded yet gentle heart, Carl was a devoted husband, father, brother, and provider.
He is survived by his loving wife of 31 years, Karen Wall; their upcoming anniversary next week would have marked 32 years of marriage. He also leaves behind his sons, Toby Wall and Jeffrey Smith; his brother and sister-in-law, Lenard and Brenda Wall; and his brother, Richard Wall.
Carl was preceded in death by his mother, Betty Wall; his father, Lenard (LV) Wall; his daughter, Sara Wall; and his oldest brother, Robert Wall.
He dedicated much of his career to the City of Dallas before continuing his work with GTI, XIT, and Texas Sterling Construction. His hard work and leadership were recognized in the Wall Street Journal for his pivotal role in securing an $82 million contract for Texas Sterling.
In retirement, Carl found joy in life’s simple pleasures—savoring a good cigar, a cold Coors Light, and cheering on his beloved Dallas Cowboys. He will be deeply missed, but his legacy lives on in the countless lives he touched and the example of a life well-lived.
