Donald "Don" Patrick Jennings, 77, Rockwall, TX passed away January 9, 2025. Born February 8, 1947, in Jacksonville, TX. He was the son of Robert W. and Verdene Jennings.
Don graduated from Garland High School, Class of 65, and served in the US Army (1966-1968).
He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Linda, children; Candace Robert (Jeff), Don Jennings II (Stacey) and John Standridge. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren, 4 great grandchildren and his brother Gary Jennings.
He is preceded in death by his parents and brother David Jennings.
Don worked for Hatfield and Company for 38 years in their Dallas, Corpus Christi and Houston offices.
Member of Corpus Christi Masonic Lodge #189. He was a Scottish Rite mason and a member of the Al Amin Shrine in Corpus Christi, TX.
A longtime member of the Methodist church. Don liked to say that he quit "cigarettes and whiskey" the same day in 1987. Feeling an emptiness in his life he joined Wesley UMC in Corpus Christi where he accepted Jesus Christ as his lord and savior.
Don defined "success" as Ralph Waldo Emerson wrote in his poem of the same name. He tried to be a "light unto the world" and leave people a little better off for having known him.
He will be sorely missed by all.

Dear Linda and family, I so sorry to hear of your loss. Don was a great boss and good friend. I still tell stories of him, his faith, integrity and mentorship. Whenever there was a challenge to be overcome, he faced it head-on. He taught me that its better to confront adversity in the moment than to let things sit. I'll never forget his sense of humor and his many hilarious stories. He was a true light in the world.

My heart goes out to you Linda and family. I have so missed our chess games and Don’s wit. I find comfort in knowing that Don loved Jesus and is in a better place waiting for us. I can’t help but smile when I think of him and how he conducted himself in business. When he became my boss, I got the best yearly evaluations I ever got before or after 😄. I knew he cared for me much more than an employee. He treated me as an equal and deeply cared for my well being and spiritual condition. Love you Linda!
