Wendell Earl Edwards

On December 10, 2024 Wendell Earl Edwards of Plano Tx passed away of natural causes. He will be remembered fondly as a giving and caring husband father and grandfather. Also, he will be thought of often as a good friend.

Wendell Earl Edwards was born to parents Nonnie V and Della Edwards in Lawn Tx. He lived in Lawn Tx and graduated high school valedictorian. He later moved to Dallas Tx afterserving in the US Army from 1943-1946. Wendell received an honorable discharge from the Army after he served in the India Burma theatre. Wendell was one of the last surviving WW2 veterans. While serving he was awarded the WW2 victory medal and combat service medal.


Wendell was a production manager at Rockwell International for thirty years and worked there at other positions before achieving a manager position. A few years before he retired he moved near Leonard Tx and lived on a farm with his wife Jackie. After Jackie passed away, he married Shirley and lived in Plano Tx until he passed away.


Remembering how much he loved to go deer hunting and dove, quail, and turkey hunting with sons, usually Tom (T) will
always come to mind, when thinking of him, and the things he enjoyed. He also liked going to the horse races.

He is survived by wife Shirley, sons Tom (T), James anddaughter-in-law Nelda, stepsons Scott Crabtree and Steve
Crabtree, grandson Chris Edwards and wife Sharon and grand daughters Amy Meador and husband Brad, Jackie Fields and
husband Jeremy and Evy Edwards and Naomi Edwards and granddaughter and family friend Carolyn Taylor. Great
grandchildren are Scot Edwards and Ben Edwards, Abby Edwards, Melanie Edwards, Hayden Meador, Hayden West,
Daniel west and Paxon West. He is also survived by great great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.


Wendell is predeceased by wife Jackie Deskin Edwards and son Michael Edwards.
