Thomas Gordon Reed, beloved husband, father, and grandfather, passed away on July 29, 2024, at the age of 80. He was born on June 29, 1944 in Fort Worth to Arthur and Mary Reed.  

Tom served his country with honor in the United States Army during the Vietnam War from 1968-1970.  He was always proud to wear his veteran’s hat wherever he went. He worked for Greyhound for 15 years and retired in 2006.

Tom is survived by his devoted wife, Jeannie Reed, with whom he shared 54 years of marriage. His sister, Donna Bailey of Stephenville, Texas.  His son Thomas Reed and wife Kathy, and his daughter Jennifer Reed and husband Chris. Tom was also a loving grandfather to three grandchildren: Haley, Savannah, and Dean.  

Tom loved his family and Jesus deeply.  He was always welcoming and enjoyed talking about his children and grandchildren with everyone he met.  He will be greatly missed..   

A graveside service will be held to celebrate Tom's life on Wednesday, August 7, 2024 at 10am at Mesquite Cemetery in Mesquite, Texas.
