Daniel Ray Nixon was born on October 26, 1968 to Clarence and Margie Nixon and entered into the presence of our Lord surrounded by loved ones on July 19, 2024 after a tough and courageous battle with cancer at the age of 55.
Daniel grew up in Garland, Texas and attended Garland High School where he played on the school baseball team and graduated with the Class of '87. He grew up attending Second Baptist Church followed by Northlake Baptist Church in Garland. On April 17, 1989 Daniel married his high school sweetheart, Shannon Shelton they were married for 32 years and raised two wonderful children. Later, Daniel became engaged to Kristi Goodwin in November of 2022. He loved working on cars and learned the basics at Collinsworth Automotive after graduating high school. He spent the next 35 years as a BMW Auto Technician including 33 at Classic BMW. Daniel spent most of his childhood years playing little league baseball and followed in his dad's footsteps by coaching his son's little league baseball teams where  he made many lifelong friends. Daniel loved the lord and was always up for a good conversation or debate about his faith and Christian beliefs, politics and the Texas Rangers. Daniel enjoyed working outside and always had the best looking and most well kept lawn on the block. He loved his family deeply, enjoyed spending time with kids and grandsons. He was a very proud Dad and Papa. Daniel is survived by his Son Jordan Nixon & wife Marina, Daughter Hannah Heidrich & husband Marc, grandsons Jack and Hudson Heidrich, Sister Shannon Propst and husband Scott. Nieces, Kristi Mikulec and Kaylee Barksdale. He also leaves behind his fiance Kristi Goodwin as well as numerous cousins, extended family and friends who all loved him and will miss him immensely.
He is proceeded in meeting our Lord by his parents Clarence and Margie Nixon, grandparents Delbert and Vela Nixon, Lonnie and Myrtle Fletcher.
A celebration of Daniel's life will be held on Saturday July 27, 2024 at 10:00 am at Charles W. Smith & Smith and Sons Funeral Home in Sachse, Texas. The Family will be available for visitation an hour before the service begins.
