Daniel Obennoskey

Daniel Alan Obennoskey, affectionately known as Big Uncle Daniel, passed away on June 29, 2024, at the young age of 43. Born on October 20,1980 in Dallas, TX. He is survived by his mother Sonya Obennoskey, siblings Monica & Daniel Gravitt & Amanda Obennoskey, nephews Anthony Aguilar, Andrew Mendoza, Kristopher Trevino, niece Ruby Mendoza, grandparents Nina Barth, Mary & Alex Mendoza, George Nickell and many aunts uncles and cousins.

Daniel enjoyed being in Omaha where he spent his days fishing, hunting, and spending time with his family. He had a heart as wide as the sky and a kindness that knew no limits, I can’t help but think of the times he made us laugh, the moments he made us feel loved. He wasn’t just the guy who would give you the shirt off his back; He was the one who would hand it to you with a smile and a joke making you forget you needed it in the first place. Every time he said goodbye, it was like he was giving you a hug with his words, making sure you knew just how much you meant to him. His love for his family was legendary. He didn’t just love them; he adored them with every fiber of his being.Though he may be gone, his spirit will live on in the hearts of all who were lucky enough to know him. Rest in peace, sweet Daniel. You may be gone, but your legacy of love and compassion will never be forgotten.

A service to celebrate Daniel's life will be held on July 6, 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Eastgate Funeral Home, located at 1910 Eastgate Dr, Garland, TX 75041.

My heart was broken to hear of Daniel’s passing! He had a heart of gold. I never saw him without a smile on his face and he always showed me such kindness and love! My prayers, my heart, and my thoughts go out to all of those who love him and are dealing with this devastating loss! Peace be with you all! Now he can rest in peace, high on that mountain, with those that have gone before him! What a joyful reunion it must have been!
