Betty Jean Howald passed away on Saturday, January 21, 2023, at the age of 94.  Betty was born to Cecil (Jeff) and Lillian Hamilton on September 7, 1928.  She is preceded in death by by her parents, her husband William, her son, Randy, and her brothers, Bob and Max Hamilton.  Betty graduated from Garland High School in 1946.  She remained active in Garland High School Alumni activities for many years.  Her careers included a long tenure at White Rock Bank, where she made many life-long friends.  She was the "voice" of Restland Funeral Home, working the switchboard for more than 30 years.  Betty was married to William Eugene Howald, deceased.  Together they had four children, Larry William, Karol Kay (Heitshusen), Randall Jay (deceased) and Kathy Melia (Monahan).  In addition to her children, she leaves to cherish her memory eight grandchildren, ten great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.  She was looking forward to the birth of her first great-great grandson.  Betty showed kindness and grace throughout her life.  "I shall pass through this world but once.  Any good therefore that I can do or any kindness that I can show to any human being,  let me do it  now.  Let me not defer or neglect it for I shall not pass this way again."  (Quote found among her important papers)    Arrangements include a visitation at Eastgate Funeral Home on Thursday, January 26, at 1:00 pm, with burial and graveside service at Restland Funeral Home at 3:00 pm.  She touched many lives and will be missed by all." />
