Erlinda Bernardez Felarca, of Dallas, Texas passed away April 28, 2013 peacefully of natural causes at UT SOUTHWESTERN MEDICAL CENTER. Mrs. Felarca was born Sept. 14, 1938 in Tattawa Abra, Philippines and has been a Dallas resident for 45 years. Before coming to Dallas, she graduated from HOSPITL DE SAN JUAN DE DIOS SCHOOL OF NURSING in Pasay City, Philippines and she also graduated from FAR EASTERN UNIVERSITY with a Bachelor Degree in Nursing, 1965. Erlinda practiced as a midwife in the Philippines until she was offered a nursing job in Dallas, Texas it was the year 1968. So begins her pioneering spirit to move to Dallas with the family not too far behind. Erlinda worked every facet of Nursing: ICU, ER, LABOR AND DELIVERY, PEDI, MED SURGE; TELEMETRY at Parkland Hospital, Zale Lipshy Hospital, St. Paul/UT Southwestern, Children's, Baylor and finally a PSYCHIATRIC NURSE at Terrell State Hospital retiring there and coming back out of retirement to continue working at Terrell till her final years.. Erlinda, even after retiring enjoyed working, raising her children and grandchildren, and was a teacher of nursing. Erlinda favorite past time was traveling with her husband Tedd. Erlinda Bernardez Felarca RN, BSN, ANCC was a devoted wife; loving, compassionate, and forgiving mother; sister, mentor, colleague, and teacher. Erlinda gave guidance, care, professionalism and devotion to every aspect of life and she will be dearly missed very much."IF YOU ALLOW IT TO HAPPEN IT WILL"-Erlinda Bernardez Felarca RN, BSN, ANCC Erlinda is survived by her sister Aida and brother Paterno Bernardez of Oxnard, Ca. Sons: Teddy, Keneddie, Lyndon, and Melvind Bernardez Felarca of Dallas, Texas. Sister in laws: Gloria Bernardez, Savacion Felarca, Teresita Felarca-Milagros of the Philippines. Brother in laws: June Baladad of Oxnard, Ca. and Camilo Felarca of the Philippines. Nephew and niece: Brian Bernardez and Junaida Baladad of Oxnard, Ca. Rowena and Romeo Bernardez of Bangued Abra, Philippines. Daughter in laws: Linda Lawless Felarca and Melissa Felarca all of Texas. Grandsons: Renno and Indio Lawless Felarca, Ryan Vincent Felarca, Alexander Zachary and Brandon Lee Felarca all of Texas; and Ronald Bernardez of the Philippines. Granddaughters: Angela, Kelissa, and Brittany Lane Felarca. Great granddaughters and grandson: Rachel, Alana and Darien Lawless Felarca all of Texas. All the relatives and in the United States, Canada, Philippines and dear friends will miss you very much.
