Larry D Walters

Larry Dale Walters passed away peacefully on September 8, 2024. Larry was born to Ralph Judson and Dorothy Virginia “Jenni” Walters on February 8, 1946 in Ennis, Texas. He graduated from Bryan Adams High School in Dallas in 1964. He served in the United States Navy during Vietnam. Upon being honorably discharged from the Navy he graduated from North Texas State University in Denton with a business degree. Larry worked in the electrical contracting industry in and around the Dallas area for over 40 years. In his later career he
worked in a business development/marketing role for Facilities Solutions Group in Dallas. His outgoing personality made him a natural salesman and allowed him to forge numerous friendships in his personal and professional life. He was involved in numerous professional
contracting associations in the DFW metroplex. He was an avid golfer and if he wasn’t working (or even if he was) the most likely place to find him would be on the course with a cigar. He enjoyed life to the fullest and was always in search of a good time with friends and family with a glass of red wine nearby. Larry was married to Nancy Walters for 28 years before she passed away on February 14, 2023. They were constant companions - always together, even on the golf course.

In addition to his wife Nancy, Larry was also preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Jenni Walters and brother Denny Walters. Larry is survived by his son Philip, his sister Kelli Hlavenka and her husband David, stepson John Ehrhart and his wife Jordan, stepdaughter Lisa
Hammons, and step-grandsons Phillip Ehrhart, Chandler Dodson and Christian Ehrhart and step-granddaughter Katie Ehrhart, nephews Ryan Walters, Joshua Hlavenka, Jeremiah Hlavenka, nieces Lindsay Pyle and Jilliane Fernandes and a host of other extended family
members and friends.

Many precious memories live in my mind and heart with all the Walter’s family when I was growing up. The Clark’s, Nichols, Tripps, Harrison’s, Jones, many more and of course all the kids in each family. I can’t remember them all the last few years. But there is a family of closeness and most of all LOVE ❤️ for each other. Each one very special.

For anyone planning to attend the graveside service on Friday at 11AM...the service will be in the Garden of Wisdom in Restland. This is in the smaller section of the park that is south of Restland Road. It is closer to LBJ. We will be posting a map on Facebook that shows the location within the park. We will also have this map at the visitation on Thursday so guests can shoot a picture of it. If anyone sees this and is not planning to attend the visitation or is not on Facebook please feel free to contact me or Kelli Hlavenka directly and we will try to get it to you.
