Betty Sue Hahn

 Betty Sue Warner Hahn

10-30-1953 to 06-03-2024

Betty Sue Warner went to be with the Lord on the evening of June 3, 2024, after an extended battle with cancer.

Betty was born on October 30, 1953.  She was the only child of Otho and Carolyn Warner.  She grew up in Louisville, Ky., attending Durrett High School, and worshipping at Highland Park Christian Church, where she first met her eventual husband Randy.  After graduating from High School in 1972, she attended Murray State University in Murray, Kentucky, obtaining her Associates Degree in Childhood Education.  There she first dated Randy at His House, the local campus ministry.

Randy and Betty later married on May 5, 1974.  Betty later gave birth to 4 sons (Joshua, Micah, Jeremy, and Dustin) and a daughter Angela.  Those children later blessed Betty with 16 grandchildren.  Betty joyfully served as a pre-school teacher for over 25 years in Illinois and Kentucky.  Children were her passion.

Betty’s loves were her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, her husband, her children, her grandchildren, her book club, her pen pal Donna, and her little Shih-Tzu Shelby.

Betty was born to be a mother, and was a wonderful one to her children.  Her joy was preparing for bible studies at Woodcreek Church, preparing for book club meetings with her fellow reading loyalists, writing and reading letters from her pen pal, sending out congratulatory cards, and doing tons of craft projects with her many grandchildren.  (If you were a grandchild and were visiting Betty, you knew what was coming.)

Betty was quiet, but she was very positive, very giving, funny, and always a joy to be around.  She was always a little naive, but along with her naivete came a beautifully pure spirit.

Her faith was and is a shining light to all that knew her.  She will be tremendously missed.

Please make memorials gifts to www.whascrusade.org in memory of Betty.

Condolences

I lived in the next room to Betty and Becky at Murray for 2 years. She was a wonderful young woman. I have many happy memories of those days. Due to Facebook I have been able to reconnect with some of those Durrett High girls. I am so sorry to hear of her passing, but I know she’s earned her Angel wings❤️

No sweeter soul ever walked this earth. We were Home Room buddies in high school and reconnected in Shelbyville after my move there. She was gentle kind and a giving person who always had a smile for those she met..
