Joyamma Jacob

Joyamma Jacob (December 28, 1954 – July 30, 2026)

Joyamma Jacob was born in Punalur, Kerala, India, and gave her life to Christ as a child after a vision of Jesus during a serious illness. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing in Jaipur, Rajasthan, married Jacob T. Varghese in 1978, and raised their family in Sharjah, United Arab Emirates, where she served for many years as a nurse at Al Qassimi Hospital and opened her home to pastors, missionaries, family, and friends. In 2012 she moved to the United States and began worshiping with her family at LOFT City Church and IPC Shalom Church. A devoted prayer warrior and gifted conversationalist, she faced her 2023 breast cancer diagnosis with courage and joy, her hope fixed on Christ to the end. She is survived by her husband of forty-eight years, Jacob T. Varghese; her daughters and sons-in-law, Ann and Sam Chacko and Alyne Jacob and Chris Foster; and her grandchildren, Nicole, Timothy, Micah, Alexis, and Jordan.
