A beautiful life came to a peaceful end on Saturday, December 27, 2025,
when Gavin Wayne Curlee went to his heavenly home.
Born to George Curlee and Brenda Allison-Johnson, Gavin was a graduate
of Richardson High School. Following graduation, he served his country in
the United States Marine Corps. Upon returning to civilian life, Gavin
began a career at Texas Instruments as a Manufacturing Specialist. While
working full-time, he demonstrated his characteristic resolve by pursuing
higher education, earning a bachelor’s degree in manufacturing engineering
from Tarleton State University. He later joined Qorvo Semiconductor in
Richardson, where he worked until his passing.
Gavin was the bedrock of his family—sincere, loyal, and always ready to
offer a helping hand or sound advice. Known as the brother with the
“Golden Heart,” his support for his loved ones was unwavering.
Gavin was preceded in death by his parents, Brenda Joann Johnson (2014)
and George Michael Curlee (2020).
His memory will be forever cherished by his siblings: John W. Jr. Rustin
and wife Cynthia Rustin, Stephen T. Rustin, Arnold C. Stoner, George A.
Curlee, Dwayne Houston, Jonathan Houston and wife Shamarra Houston,
and Ginell V. Curlee-Jackson and husband Aaron Jackson. He also leaves
behind a legacy of love for his nieces and nephews—Octavia McFadden
and husband Matthew McFadden, Calib Rustin, Jared Rustin, Evans "GG"
Young IV and wife Donjunae Young, Yasmin Rustin, Tyree Rustin, and
Anthony Curlee—along with a host of extended family and dear friends.
